Hey guys,

ive found two trans options for my v8 rail. a good 091 stock. or a 914 Porsche trans that needs to be gone through. originally i was thinking a 350 chevy or a 454 chevy HOWEVER a budy of mine has a 318 mopar he is willing to give me. my question to you guys is out of those trans's what would you buy. obviously the 091 would be need to be built. I have no idea about the porsche trans though. any opinions or ideas would help!

Thanks!

Use the bus transmission. It will be better geared for off road use. The porsche is a little tall in my opinion.

If I had to pick between the two motors, I would go with the Chrysler 318. They were a really good dependable motor... that, and I am kinda partial to Chrysler. Wink

Can you get adapters and flywheels for the v8 engines, or will you have to make your own?

I beleve i can get an adapter through kennedy. I think i will go with the 091. i do a mix of driving both off road and street (never highway). I was kind of thinking the 318 aswell.
