hiya,
spent some time today taking my handles apart to go to be rechromed and have got down to the bare bones with just the lock to remove from the handle.there is a pin which slides in and out of the shaft so does that need to be removed before the lock slides out.
next question is regarding the spoon pop out latches, they have several pins holding them together and what i need to know is can the pins be removed from either direction.
many thanks

No. There is a small screw near the base of the handle. Remove that screw and the cylinder will slide out.

They are pressed so they cannot be removed. You would have to drill on one side to release it and use new pins when reassembling it. I don't know if pins are available.
