Hey all,

What if any frame strengthening needs to be done if chopping the cab off of a VW caddy pickup? Others have suggested the pickup already has a strong enough frame to carry loads, but before I start...

Has anyone done a convertible conversion on a pickup, just asking?

Thankee! Embarassed

I would think you would def need to reinforce the uni-body if you are planning on chopping the top off. And don't forget to reenforce the a-pillars.

Any time you change the box structure, you have to add other reinforcement. Look at the extra convert reinforcements added to the air cooled bugs and to the convert rabbits.
