Well Ladies and Gentlemen.. my nice lil' 1971 Super Beetle was taken out by an uninsur'ed, drugged-up, driver the other day.. (My cars were legally parked in front of my house).

The drug addict 1st dragged the curb for 60', rear-ended my bug, shoving it 8' foreward & into a telephone poll, then bounced off my Bug and hit my 2002 Chevy Malibu LS,(which I'd just gotten back out of the shop in Jan from being hit while it was parked.. by a drunk driver)..

The police originally arrested the owner of the vehicle... and an 1/2 hr later, took her out of the patrol car, uncuffed her, told her to get some rest & go to work the next day,(some trick, the lying, crack-whore is on welfare & food stamps & lives in HUD housing)... but let her go to tend to her minor daughter while still blasted out of her head on drugs...

Needless to say.. she didn't even show up to court, warrant out for her arrest, impound yard returned her uninsr'ed vehicle to her,(still without insurance), two days after the accident.. and the city attorney's office recommends I get an attorney, because they refuse to pursue restitution on my behalf, regardless of the situation and charges against her...

I'm now out nearly $20,000 between my 2 cars,(the VW & Chevy), that the crack-whore totaled out...

..But the worst part about the whole mess... is that she's still out on the streets... doing drugs... & driving around an uninsured vehicle... and it looks like the only two things that are going to actually stop her... is either her death... or she literally kills someone the next time...

(Please don't ask for current pics of my Bug.. it kinda makes me sick just looking at the once was worth 10k car that I'd worked so hard on... that's now just sitting in my back yard... a mere pile of wreckage)..

Sigh..

That sucks! Also a good example of how our judicial system has failed miserably.

I say get the lawyer and sue the city, they are the ones failing you most now.

I agree and am seriously contemplating that very thing, att.. the one thing giving me any reservations about doing exactly that.. are the judges will most certainly favor the judgments of the PD officers and City Attorneys office..

(..and yes, MT is in the top 5 worst drug-problem states in this country... "Big Sky, Bigger Drug Problem"..)

(..my Dad was a PhD in Law... It's the whole system that is rotten and wholly failing... the Laws very well may be on my side here.. but the enforcement of any of them is certainly not my call, regardless of the damages I might suffer.)

*Sigh*

huh-uh.

Too many WTF's to deal with in this post to make it believable. Something doesn't add up or is being left out of the story. What do you mean the city won't prosecute on your behalf? What do you mean they gave her an insured car back? What do you mean they let her go free as a bird still drugged up?

Sorry, just doesn't fly.

Yeah, let's get this back on track.

Sorry to hear about it, but the whole "let a druggie go scott free and give her her uninsured car back while she doesn't show up for court and the city doesn't prosecute" sounds a bit too far-fetched for me.

"WTF" is exactly right. ..and it's all too true, I'm not embellishing in any way..

The city attorney's office has said that the mere Obstructing Charge isn't enough to also prosecute the uninsured crack-whore for restitution of my vehicles on my behalf. (so.. you think this is the first time the police have totally dropped the ball in an investigation in this country.. not the 1st time here in MT, anyway..)

The crack-whore was only charged with "Obstructing A Police Investigation",(for lying to the officer by saying she was the driver, eye witnesses saw the driver of the uninsured vehicle jump out & flee on foot with a bag.)

That's right, the impound yard where her vehicle was towed to as per the police, returned her the vehicle within the week.. without showing any current insurance on the vehicle. (..and no tickets were originally issued for failure to show proof of insurance, even though the crack-whore-owner of the vehicle admitted at the time the vehicle was not insured at that time).

...And taking the crack-whore out of the patrol vehicle, uncuffing her, so that she can go and get her minor-child from the babysitter's, and telling her to "go get some rest, & go to work in the morning"..(while she was most clearly still blasted out of her head on drugs, {I actually suspect heroin}), is simply one I am still having trouble remotely getting my head around also!

Man, ya just can't make this stuff up! (do you really need me to post pics?! btw.. pics of the carnage are already on FB.. complete with the sign I posted in my yard saying.. "Got Drugs?!"..)

That is so unreal. Over here, a police officer stopped my daughter for having a burnt out taillight, found her registration had expired, refused to let her drive the car home or even let me retrieve the car with AAA, and locked it up in a lot that charged us $300 to get the car back. The police in Montana seem SO MUCH friendlier... Rolling Eyes

"The police in Montana seem SO MUCH friendlier..."

Yeah, and normally I'd like to be right there with ya on your above quote.. but..... I'm thinking they're mostly friendly with those that make illegal drugs, sell illegal drugs, do illegal drugs,(and drive), drive drunk,(there's a couple people still out and around this area with 27 and more DUI's... and their license still intact,(..although IF they still have vehicle insurance, I'll wager it's expensive)...
