My 1998 vw jetta transmission is going out, i pulled the fill plug and there are some rather large metal chunks in the fluid. i am a mechanic so doing the job is not the problem. MY QUESTION IS.........
Can i put any vw manual transmission into my jetta. besides the VR6. i was told i could but i dont not know to what extent and if i will see any benefits out of a new year trans in my 2.0 ABA 98' jetta.
can anyone give me some help with this?????  |

| Any mkII/III tranny will bolt right in. Ratios from various mkII trannies will be either taller or shorter, all the 020 mkIII trannies will have the same ratios. Some mkII trannies could have 90mm flanges and also the smaller input shaft, flanges can be swapped and a corresponding 210mm clutch disc for the smaller input shaft can be used. |
