I'm guessing the reserve is in the high teens or low twenties.

I called the dealer. They are asking $21,900 for the car.

G.I. Joe: The copy states: "THE FLOORS ARE EXTREMELY DRY SHOWING NO AREAS OF SURFACE RUST. THERE ARE TWO VERY SMALL RUST SPOTS IN THE BATTERY TRAY AREA FROM NORMAL AGE."

Perhaps the seller is not aware and buyer beware!

It was the 172nd Thing built after mine. Laughing

Hey! The dash brake light works! Mine doesn't. (Note to self.) Think

I wish it had a color code sticker. If it did, it would probably only mention the white but it would be nice if the blue was listed so solve that mystery once and for all. My Super had its color ID under the front lid. Did any 181s have them?

So a lot of people said this car should be pasted on? Did it sell for $25,000? This car was such a great original untouched car we decided it would be a shame to restore such great history.

Ron Domeck: Yes, I saw this car sell at the Reno Barrett-Jackson auction on tv thursday night for $25k, the day after the ebay auction closed not meeting reserve. The B/J auction started at $2000k, no reserve. I'll bet the owners pants were wet for the first minute...then the bidding got hot to $22k, almost closed, the hot again. If it was not this exact car, it was exactly identical. I think you can go to the B/J website and check it out.

Just an FYI: the photos of this car are really incredible. I have now used it as a reference now a couple of times. Maybe we could have a sticky thread up top with 73 & 74 "detailed pictures"?

Yes I do! Very Happy I have found many times I just need to see an example on the car to figure something out. Dennis, you and Ron build and detail in pictures so many cars it helps us all in our builds. For example, I was trying to find pictures of the rear seat backs for my upholstery guy to work from. I could have posted on the Samba for examples, but would rather find the pictures than trouble someone else to find them for me. You can search in the Samba Gallery, but its hit and miss sometimes. I just think it would be cool here or on Kebeltreffin 181 to have a gallery of 100+ pictures each of perfect examples of a 73, 74 and maybe an Acapulco or a military cars for reference. Cool
