Does anyone know the difference in the door skin itself for the 1967? I was wondering if we could use the earlier piece from a 66 and maybe have to mod it slightly around the handle area or where ever the issue might be. We're redoing a 67 and the door skin, and handle were "mashed" a bit.

| Pretty sure the 66 and 67 door skins are interchangeable. Althought the 67 had a round pushbutton on the outer door handle, where the handle mates with the door surface is the same as the 66 ...even the the indent for the fingers ....as far as I can recall. |

Appreciate it,
I'm having trouble with the door, and the inner rear wheel houses. She's rotted at the body mounts. Fella told me she wasn't worth fixing so now I'm working hard to save her. |

Late production '66 beetles also used a round push button handle

65 66 67 outer skins are interchangeable (chrome holes different)
Complete doors (and handles) are not interchangeable.
65-66 doors
67 doors.
67 latch mechanism is newer design. (Latch shares features with 68 and newer)
