I'm sure this will be met with an answer quickly. Did all 67 buses come with reverse lights? In particular the 67 Deluxe? _________________ Anthony

Early '67's didn't have the back-up lights, and the later ones did, can't recall the cut-off date, but it is here in a thread somewhere, and when I get home I could look it up. Anyone else have the date/chassis # handy?

I'll research that part Bill. Thanks for your help! I just assumed all 67s had reverse lights. _________________ Anthony

^^This is the answer^^
I have an early (Aug) 67 deluxe and it doesn't have the back up lights. Many of the 67 only pieces were added throughout the model year and will not be found on all 67 buses. For example, my early 67 does not have the one-year-only rear view mirror, the dual cylinder master cylinder, nor the larger radio hole in the dash. One of the few ways to visually tell any 67 from an earlier bus is the missing finger indent under the button for the rear hatch. A 67 will be the only wide hatch bus that does not have that indent.

It has always been my understanding that March was the month that reverse lights were added. _________________ Do you want fries with that? |

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

That package is often mislabeled. It only included reverse lights when reverse lights were standard equipment. ditto for dual circuit brakes, etc.
ie the actual meaning of 425 changed over the years, but the online decoder doesn't have that programmed in. _________________ The Obsolete Air-Cooled Documentation Project http://oacdp.org/ |

I'm working on the theory the list is the most likely the last revision of the M425 which is relevant to my '67 and I have everything on that list. Where as my 64 which also has M425 does not so only parts are relevant to that. |

I currently have two 67's: a September 27, 1966 Standard and a May 26, 1967 SO42. They share all of the same 67 only features (fuel door, radio, rear view mirror, trigger rear hatch, etc. The 9/66 bus does not have back up lights, the 5/67 bus does. I have not compared master cylinders yet... _________________ EMPI Power Rules! |

There are earlier and later versions of 425. Where did your list come from?. It does look like it came from a late split list which is correct for a 67, not a 64ish list or bay window list.
I have not seen a decoder that takes into account the date of production to spit out the correct version of 425.
Also, IIRC, there are multiple codes where the details changed over time.
