Does anybody still use this method, or is it just outdated from remote reservoirs? _________________ Wash your hands

I recently ran across a place that was selling the fins for them, but I havent seen anybody use them in years. Can't remember for the life of me where I saw them... _________________ 1800 Type 4 Berrien 295

So with a mono-tube construction where the oil is just sitting there, it seems like it would still be a valid idea to have some fins. _________________ Wash your hands

Man if you ever remember let me know.... I have been looking for them for a long time for my Norra car. I only have about 2 dozen and need a lot more. I can't locate them anywhere. I found some from a private seller in Calif but by the time I got in touch with him they were gone fast. They are probably off of cooling system HVAC coils. I have tried calling manufacturers for cooling condensers but no luck. It would be much appreciated! |

Are they more basic than just rings welded to the shocks? _________________ Wash your hands

If I remember, I will let you know. This is going to drive me nuts that I can't remember where I saw them. It was only a few weeks ago too. _________________ 1800 Type 4 Berrien 295

They are very basic, thin aluminum rings that slide on the body of the shock one ring at a time. You stack them on top of each other. They only slide on one way by design, so you take them off the same direction. Snug fit but still we siliconed the top and bottom one when you got the amount you needed stacked up. Very old school we used them on Bilstein's in the 70's before remote reservoirs were standard. I never actually compared temperatures both with or without. We lost shocks during races both with and without but I want them to bring the car back to that period look. |

Should really put a bit of heat transfer compound under the base to take up the gap to the shock body too, makes them far more efficient. |

I'm going to go to a local off-road shop and see if they'll make some. Totally impractical but if they're the right price it would be cool. _________________ Wash your hands
