There. I was spending August at Kornofsky's Korner, a bungalow colony with my grandmother when there was a invasion of hippies. _________________ Glenn

August of 1969, I was attending a Nixon administration policy summit on Latin America. Although I was only 4 months old and had not yet come to understand the language, I had an enjoyable time. _________________ Feel My Pain l Sage Ad World |

I was 16 years old in Ames, Iowa.
To this day my sainted mother would not let me go to New York on a dare. |

February 1969
I got discharged from the Air Force and felt like a long 10 speed bike ride across the country would be just what I needed to clear my head.
So for $80 I bought a new Peugeot Grand Prix 10 speed road bike and with the help of Tolkien's trilogy headed off to find my self.
Woodstock, walking on the moon and Easy Rider happened with out me.
3 months and about 6000 miles , 3 rear tires.
I made it almost to Vancouver BC when I stopped to help a guy who had the hood up on a truck loaded with logging equipment. The guy said that he didn't think the truck would make it up the big hill in Manning Park BC.
I found the points were fried on the '67 GMC 292 and with my finger nail file
got him running.
He asked where I was going and I said Alaska
then he offered me a job
after pumping that "heartless horse" for 90 days
riding in a truck seemed like a good idea and getting paid for it.
Hank's most excellent adventure
thanks for asking
cheers
