20 years ago I found a split buried in mud in a wet creek bed. It was pushed off the bank to help control erosion in the '60's. When I saw it years ago, only the top 8" or so was up out of the water. I had to dig down to find the rear window.

Question is, what are the chances of it being worth digging out?

It's on private property and would most likely be free for the taking.

Thanks, JH

Go for it! Who knows what good parts lurk under the water in the mud!

I would go for it! If nothing else, it could make some cool yard art and neat pics/story for the forum. Do it and document your findings!

Are you sure it's even still there? Creeks and creek beds change a LOT over a 20 year period. It may have been removed already.

Have you even been to the location lately? A lot of places I knew where there were cars in the woods or in fields, are now covered with housing developments, apartments and shopping centers.

After 20 years you might find the glass.

I know if I found one I would get some help and dig it out. Splits are as rare as hens teeth in this neck of the woods.
