I really like that one a lot! BUT, the price is just a bit steep for me.

I've seen this 181 at the Griot's garage in Tacoma, WA. Very nice but not worth 44K. 15K tops, Maybe 20

FWIW,...a few pics I took

We should be rooting for the seller lol. If it sells at 40k, the value of all our things go up Cool

Is that an oil cooler in the engine bay, or something else? If so I've never seen it done like that, probably for a reason.

Nice car, but $40k nice?

Interesting history, but is it enough to bump the price up?

Re-engineered, or just updated the way many Things are?

I think the seller missed his window to get it into Barrett-Jackson's big auction, and is hoping to achieve that kind of crazy pricing on ebay. I just don't see it.

"THIS IS A REENGINEERED CAR, AND THE BEST ON THE MARKET. IF YOU ARE A “THING” EXPERT, PLEASE SPARE US YOU EMAILS WITH YOUR OPINIONS ON PRICING."

WOW! I didn't know it at the time, but I've seen some $100,000 THINGS! (based on this pricing!) Can you imagine what some of the Domecks might go for now?

I do like the ammo can speaker boxes though!

Depending on the futures market ,those "serape seats" can get pricey at times. I suppose the money has to be in the drive-train.

Barrett-Jackson pricing.

Wow, that's arrogant.... Rolling Eyes
I don't see a Mendeola A-arm font end, I don't see a 5 Spd or higher transaxle, I don't see fuel injection.... Heck, the seats are even cheap looking... No beard suspension seats??

All that said, it is a cool looking Thing, stance is right, cage is nice, wheels/tires look good....
Maybe Ron and Dennis should take a few pointers from these fellas, and build Things properly!! Wink These guys clearly have it figured out! Rolling Eyes

FWIW, I'd buy a Domeck built car anyday, before I even thought about buying from anyone else.... Cool

I must have missed that. Looks to have all the necessary parts for standard 74 heat.

Hmmmmm, there goes my status as having the nicest avocado Thing in CT. While it does seem to be in a little better shape than mine, I'll take my motor over that one any day. I should drive down there in my Thing and check it out. It's about a 20 minute drive from my house. And then laugh in the guy's face when he tells me the price. If only I had the time for such shenanigans , I'd do it.

Wow!

Wonder if we can get some of the stuff they are taking... our eternal optimism will make anything possible!

We could bottle it and sell it for oh about 50, no 100, no 1 million dollars!
