Barrel tank discontinued in 44, the last production KdF beetles came already with square tank. The small gas tank discontinued in early 49? I think. Dash with VW emblem pressing came in 46

Small tank changed to bigger around early july 1949 I think.
VW pressing in the dash was dropped for hole with black blank pod in early may 1949.

I believe Pre '45 cars had a pod.

Here's a pic of my dash on my '47, the VW emblem is pressed NOT a removable pod
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

1949-52 cars once again had removable pods

Wasn't the pressed VW logo higher on appr. 44-46 and centered as on the picture above on 47-48 something. Remember reading this somewhere?

Yes, on 1946 cars, the VW pressing was off-centre. Not sure when this changed (possibly very early '47), the pressing was centralised.

Where are pics?

Some solid dash cars have had their dash cut for pods or radios.
