|
|
I would like to put some gauges on my 73 Westy to monitor RPM, Temp and oil pressure. Are there good options for a combo cluster that can occupy the empty right gauge on a bay?
Anyone have these accessory gauges and where are they mounted?
Recommendations?
Thanks in advance! |

The most common use of that blank is a clock or VDO tach. |

Looked into it and couldn't find analog guages that would work... instead I did the VDO guages for all three just below the radio and left the spot blank in hopes of finding a stock clock /rpm guage some day.
i might replace my stock horn button with one of the ones with a built in clock.

Not sure if this will work.Click on "gauges" and you'll find an adapter for that 3rd hole to fit 3 3/8" gauges |

I really like this set up. Is the ash tray fully functional?
I put a VDO oil temp gauge in that spot, under the clear plastic. I do like the set up above and when I buy a tach I will move the temp gauge above the ash tray.

I found that I get the most out of my CHT gauge. On the interstates I tend to drive by it more that the speedometer.
You can make one in under $20. Just look at this thread:

I find the tachometer to be a waste of space. Unless you magically found a way to silence your bus to where you can't hear the motor. Though if you really want one, you can get a cheap tach display the same size as the CHT display that will fit in the circle cutout as well. _________________ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=582117 |

So a Volvo clock evidently fits too. I found this on the "buses at the brewery" thread.
