I don't always have a good comeback, but when I do it's usually later that day, in the shower....
This is good option to a full motorcycle weight-wise. I have carried bicycles many times on trips and ended up not using them much.
Anyway I saw something that might interest folks... sorry if it's not for you. _________________ 91 Westy |

Successful on Kickstarter (the second time around):
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2097071998/motopeds?ref=nav_search
Could be a nice light weight motorbike on a Vanagon that's better than a moped. I think the company is out of Santa Cruz (maybe VC will sell them as a Vanagon accessory ). _________________ 1990 Multivan - "Ohana"

My gawd... wtf? Is this TheSamba? Do I own, use, love and camp in my Westfalia? Would I like a lightweight motor cycle?
I have no interest, ownership or affiliation with Motoped other than a potential addition to my camping enjoyment.
Please feel free to ask the MODS to delete every motorcycle related thread if bothers you so much. _________________ 91 Westy |

Go VC! lol. I can't seem to find what they weigh but hanging one front or back seems like a great idea to me. _________________ 91 Westy |

I just talked to a syncro owner here in Boulder the other day that has one and carries it on a single place aluminum tray off the bumper. He loves it and it looked pretty cool to me, not sure what it weighs?

Does he carry it front or back? My only option would be in the front as I have a GW swing-away rear bumper. I would need to weld in a receiver on the front bumper but as the spare is gone anyway the weight issue is not much of an impact. _________________ 91 Westy |

In *my* imagination I saw this pic and immediately made a connection to my desires for enhancing my personal enjoyement and adapting it to my Vanagon. I could have used more words. My bad. Anyway... continuing I did find:
Curb Weight 107 pounds-Dry, 115-ready to ride(depending on components used)
There are many threads regarding motorcycle mounts on TheSamba and the pros and cons of front/ back mounting and methods to do so.
Leaving the gas out till you need it makes 107 pounds look pretty appealing. _________________ 91 Westy |
