|

I'm in the process of gathering up parts to build a Manx style street buggy. I have a chance to pick up a set of slotted mags with tires for a very reasonable price but I'm concerned that they might be too small. I can't test fit them before I buy them, they are in a different town. So I'm hoping someone here has used this size or even better can direct me to some pictures of lowered buggies running 14s.
The tires are P185x60 R14 and P265x50 R14 . 7" and 10" rims respectively.

Personally I would run away screaming from 14" rims. There are next to no tire sizes available for them any more. Do a search of places like Tirerack.com and see what there is for tires available BEFORE you buy the rims.

^^.. Yep X2..
I scraped a full set of 14 x 8 slots for that very reason...
It really all depends on the size you need.... or want..
My Buggy is lowered... but I use 15's.

185/60-14 is the same height as 195/50-15, about 22.7 inches tall. I do think the back tires are likely a bit small, not much taller than a stock Bug tire (but a lot wider.) _________________

... BF Goodrich Radial T/A series tires. Good selection of 14" sizes. Look at Cooper tires for options as well.

If you can find BFG P195x70 R14 and P275x60 R14 That might help get them a little taller. I run 14's in the front and 15's in the back. Just makes it look right to me. I may not be perfect on the sizes, I was just using examples but taller tires might make the rims a good option at a great price. I was told to junk my 15's due to poor selection. not going to but I guess everyone has an opinion, take it or leave it. Just do what you want. _________________ Manx Club Member #4333 |
