Title says it all. I have a GW VSS in my Syncro with a 2.2 Subaru and want too add factory Cruise .
It seems to me that the GW VSS has a Pos output and the Factory cruise sensor use a Neg output .
I am looking for someone who has done this or who can steer me in the right direction.
I do not want to use a CV mounted pick up. I may have to install a signal generator in the speedometer cable.
If I am totally off base here or overlooking the obvious please feel free to correct me.

Stacy

So has anyone just cut a second hole in the back of the speedometer and mounted a second VSS ?
It would seem that the spinning wheel wouldn't care and you would now have both needed signals.
I have contacted Fast Forward to see if his device might work for me. I have almost all the parts in, the wiring is done I just need a Subaru Vacuum pod and I can almost start testing the system.

A second Reed switch at the rear of the speedo would work.

There are definitely switches capable of splitting the signal to satisfy both a VSS and Cruise Control ECU.

Luckily I use aftermarket management and keep the stock vanagon cruise control as a complete unit.
I use the EG33 vacuum actuators as they are perfect for my needs and have just the right length cable for where I place the unit.

The SubaruVanagon forum may give you far more info on how to and why to.

In an early Legacy factory setup, the cruise works off the back of the speedometer from the same signal as the ECU, so I don't see any reason you will need a second sensor.
The only difference Im aware of is the signal is 5 pulse on the Subaru Vs. 4 pulse on the Vanagon.
