So after months of putting off the work to find out what the transmission problem was on my split I finally got down to it and I got some good news! The trans is fine but my PP throw out disc fell off the 3 PP fingers. This was a balanced PP when I built my engine. It seems to be just friction that holds the disc on the fingers. Can that be fixed? The clutch & PP only has 6k miles. Do I just need to squeeze the metal prongs or replace it with th
e PP which has the numerous springs holding the Throw out breaking disc?
This is an on Okrassa engine if that makes a difference.

So upon closer examination of the pressure plate the wire that holds down the arm broke. The spring is ok just the wire that holds the arm down is broken. This is a F&S type PP with 3 arms. Now normally I would just buy a new PP but I paid good money to balance it and it is still very new.

So I was hoping that maybe somebody may have repaired one and can give some advice on the type of wire that was used or even better has a broken PP that they can take off the wire and sell to me.

This broken wire.....is it the funny one with two coiled ends, and a swiveling bail at the other? I just dismantled a '58 pressure plate (for the spring caps with the round holes!) and have 3 of these wire thingies I could send you.

That's the sucker. If either you or Alan has a nice undamaged one that would be great. I will PM you.

Thanks

Sorry for the delay. I couldn't find the one in my shed. I did find one in the bottom of my welding cart for some reason! It's a F&S like yours, you're welcome to the whole thing if you'd like it.
