I still like the dual quiet mufflers from Bugpack they have a nice tone they increase hp not take it away I have used these for 20000 mile and over 4 years and they still look good they are ceramic coated I agree that the stock air cleaner is quieter and better I changed to a stock air cleaner when I started driving My engine is a 1776 with a 100 cam

How is the stock exhaust for valve adjustment? |
It's ok, I got room to work, done a few adjustments since I purchaced it, it's not a fun job by any means but doable.

How did you end up installing the hitch? I would have thought that the exhaust would get in the way. _________________ What I lack in brains, I make up for with good intentions. |

I installed the stock exhaust and it is quieter and not blatty like the header system.I can actually hear the radio going through all gears. As far as top end I would say I lost very little.I can still pick up speed on the upgrades at 60mph and 70mph or more on the flats. At these speeds,it did increase the head temps by 25 degrees so now I am running at 350 which is safe.By the way it is a well made exhaust system. _________________ 1971 Super Beetle |

I forgot to mention that the clearance for adjusting the valves is very good and not near as tight as the header system. _________________ 1971 Super Beetle |
