How many times have you had that little button spring out of the ebrake handle? Could be one click too many. Not adjusted the cables.

Here is a 32 second mod that is worth doing. All it will cost you is a roll pin or a cotter key. Figure out the travel on the little pawl and then drill a hole and pop a cotter key in there. (The first hole was just an engineering experiment ) LOL.

No more button ejection!!!

Don't you have to over-lift the handle to initially install the spring loaded guts? It's been a few years since I had to put one back together. It could be a pain to get a roll pin in or out with the handle in place. The cotter pin looks easy, but could be a issue with some covers.

One other option would be a small screw. Drill through the handle with the appropriate drill size for a 4mm or 8-32 tap and tap. Then open the other side with the close fit clearance hole for the threads. Put the screw in the threaded side have it long enough to be supported by the other side, but not stick through (tap from the clearance hole side too, to help keep the tap strait.)
