If that were a barndoor it would be getting pushed/ pulled back straight already. so sad. But I guess there was a Porsche 718. as well. If memory serves me, that is a 1959 Spyder, aka RSK.
This is why all major collector car insurance companies sell insurance. Such insurance on a car in storage, not driven is often not very much expense. Because collision is the major risk. Also, let this be a lesson to all those looking to store their babies. LOOK FOR FIRE SPRINKLERS! IT MIGHT BE WORTH PAYING A BIT MORE!
Best of luck to all who lost their cars.

I remember reading about this back when it happened. I am reading it again now and feel compelled to make a donation. For those who didn't get his paypal account, it's [email protected]
I can only imagine what it would feel to go through this. Being in the insurance business sure makes things crystal clear. I have several fire extinguishers in my shop and also unplug or turn off everything when I'm not there. All chemicals are stored in a metal cabinet and all of my welding is done outside unless the weather doesn't allow. At that point I stick around the shop at least an hour after I'm done welding just to make sure. Call me crazy but that's how I do things.
Please use extra caution and do contact your insurance agent to arrange inexpensive storage insurance protection on your non-driven cars so you can protect your investments. _________________ Terry Gaudet

AND don''t forget those battery chargers- they catch on fire and don't blow the breaker till the damage is done. _________________ some days I get up and just sit and think. Some days I just sit.

My dad had this happen a few years back. He just happened to step back into the ATTACHED garage at the same time that the charger caught fire and melted. If he had gone in for dinner, they may have lost everything. _________________ nothing |
