Going through the box of misc parts that came with the car and found this windshield protector thingy. What's the purpose?

It is the camo cover just like the mirror covers, headlight covers and more to stop light from reflecting off the vehicle during a tactical maneuver... Try putting that cover on the soft top when the top is down.. I have heard it also fit there.

I never understood that piece of canvas. It does fit over the window screen but. And probably used when the screen is folded down. But there are no reflective parts on the windscreen frame... ??

I use it every time I ride with the windshield down, because it prevents the sun visorsnfrom balooning up with air, which leaks in from the 41-year old grommets

It is for when the windshield is down and you are off road to protect the windwhield frame which sticks out on the sides.
