Ask and ye shall receive! I'm going to have to hit this with the buffer. Unrelatedly, microfiber towels suck for waxing. As do microfiber application pads.

Since there's a house fulla yelling kids, why not go outside and clean a junkyard hood!? Sounds good to me! First we wash.

Okay, back on task. Okay, so we established I bought a hood. What you might not know, is I walked a half mile with it on my head like an African woman. I am now sympathetic to their plight.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Okay, first I took off the old hood and pitched it. See it back there? Boom. Delivered to a friend that wanted it, and now it's his issue. I took a bucket and scrub brush and cleaned under the hood. Shop vacuumed up the water after. Good as nearly new!

After that, the remaining parts of the fuel injection was removed. Why Kirk?!? Why?!? Because the rats ate lots. And what they didn't eat, was old. I scored this in good shape on the cheap.

Yup.

Parker worked diligently to check under the cylinder head tins, while I dealt with a bellows fullllllllllllll of rat crap, paper, Walmart sacks, a partially digested type3 FI system and pecan shells. Under the cylinder were good.

In the cleaning of the bellows, the belt broke. Oops.

Finished the night with installing my hood hood! Boom! A much better look, IMO.

Work was done. Tonight I climbed under, and replaced the fuel line from the body to the soon to be newly installed carb. That was the oldest, crustiest fuel line ever. Parker oddly had a random grommet that fit the fuel line hole perfectly that was just something he randomly kept.

Then installed the carb and fuel pump.

Had some issues with the fitment. Throttle cable comes through in the wrong place. Got under and re ran the throttle cable to the passenger side. Then I switched the reverse light wires to the drivers side.

Installed the new throttle cable. The area near the pedals are damp with brake fluid. I'm not sure what broke when I pressed the pedal but I think it's the master cylinder. Hmm.

Then opened the valve covers to make sure they weren't fulla sh*t. Looks good.

Everything's coming along. Getting real real close to trying to fire it up.

On an unrelated side note, my buddy parker has a d*ck chopper tool for cutting fuel line. I immediately hid my fingers and pecker out of fear. This suckas bad arse.

Now this pic for no reason.

Update.

The motor was making a heavy internal clink/clunk when turned over by a wrench. Loud and clunky. Couldn't find it. Decided to hook it up to power, and it would spin spin spin and only clunk when stopping spinning. None the less, new fuel lines were installed under the tank, fuel was added and after lots of unsuccessful cranking periods, this happened.

Oops.

Fiddling with the distributor and various timing settings and this happened:

Oh yeah it happened.

Oh yeah. Then this happened! A crazy run through the neighborhood with no brakes! Kids scattered, old ladies fainted and a dog farted. We were the coolest cats for blocks!

I used to think that, but I would rather see it and a running, driving car than no solo weber and a sitting, idle car.

Kind of what I thought. My problems are firstly the entire rear deck is rotted out, and i cant put a lid there. Not sure what Im going to do. I got the carb brand new, real real cheap. AND, the fuel injection that came off, whats actually usable, will probably go towards making Oppenhiems complete again. His was completely destroyed. This one was just partially destroyed. I've been slowly building a new/rebuilt set up for him. This car will probably get driven for a little while and sent to a new, loving home. Smile Isnt two type threes and two type ones and two type twos too many?! Laughing

Opie's FI is a different system- he's a "D" and your Fasty is an "E". And, as to your last sentence, yes, two type ones and two type twos are too many.

Did some research, looks like my flooding interior is due to clogged cowl drains. Compressed air to the rescue.

There was so much crap in there it's unreal. Took over an hour to even make a dent.

That was not working. My buddy "Macgyver" Michael Parker created a new tool.

I immediately pulled the trigger and the air pressure whipped the tube back and hit me between the eyes. That sucked, HARD.

I did finally get it clean, and it drains! Took more than an hour and a half but it's clean! I ran water through it and it drained great. But then i jacked it up to do some underneath work, ran water again, and it filled the interior up, once again. Guess those hoses are bad. Anyone know the OD size of those?

Also the back leaks bad as crap through the side vents. Where do I find those hoses on the car? I peaked quickly, but didnt see them.
