he was so happy it was awesome for us thanks guys for you kind words I know I am going need soooooo much help! from all you bus buds! the plan is to make a safe happy bus NO LOWERING OR OTHER NON OG TYPE STUFF'S I am going to drive the hell out of it!once it is safe for me and my family! So.. engine, make it stop, all lights working proper, and buy some parts here and there. Make it nice to drive and to ride in. Go to vw shows hoping to meet some of you! Yes it is going to take time just to get to that point! But things that are awesome always do! So I mite ask you for help ALOT!! so come with me on my BASIC VW BUS FUNCTIONAL NO FRILS RESTO!!! I have always wanted a tuff operating bus! respectable bus! strong! I think the RBG'S & THE 1500 can fill my need's plenty ! with proper care and respect to all the fine germen part's! I just don't see how that mix can go wrong? and yes I plan to keep the 6volt, I have never had 6volt want to see how it goes mite change my mind..lol I know there is a bunch of upgrades that can keep my 1500 OG and running strong and smooth. I have ben in a bus with RBG'S and to me it's fine When I am driving my bus I am not going to be in a hurry. I will be enjoying myself so I don't need to go fast so off I go to my local vw parts store to buy a starter, voltage regulator, all tune up stuff's, a 6volt battery and break parts, "the bus was sitting for 20+years so when I put the battery in hold my breath and turn the key "the og key was in the bus along with church key just sitting there! " we will see what turns on and what don't "we all know that moment don't we? " when I know I will run in and tell yal ! so thank you for reading my plans on my very basic vw bus resto "The Sunny side bus"....god bless _________________ ya it's rusty...but it's MINE!!!!! |

The first pic I thought "PGSG"
Then I wondered why someone had put a later interior in it.
Then I realized it had been re-painted in the style of PG/SG. I like it!
The peeling /curling interior panels can be carefully flattened and cleaned up. Looks like a pretty complete bus. More interior pics!
Is that the original engine? What engine #? |

The large white circles are seat belt anchor point trims. The white dish and chrome dish are door handle escutcheons. That key is '67 style. Poo score on the radio knobs. |

The plane is simple... only spend money where the bus needs it! this bus is OG and will remain THAT WAY AS LONG AS I OWN IT! witch means no lowering , no making it look ratty "or adding MORE patina " if there is a bad rust spot it will be FIXED! I am not going to let my bus just rust away because of a style or look . This bus is 6 volts and will stay 6VOLTS! I want it to look as it did back in 1964 well as much as can be expected..lol the real color underneath the paint it is now is RED so maybe in the future I will let the real patina paint shine though but for now getting her road ready and tuff e-nuff to hit the streets is what the plan is. I want to stick some beefy meets on her but I am not sure if I have garage clearing for that so I guess plane ol 15' will do when I step in my bus I want " that feeling" the feeling you get when you first sat in her when you found her kind of feeling! so thanks for all the support I really need it as this project was a 2 person thing but sadly now is just me .... thanks guys _________________ ya it's rusty...but it's MINE!!!!! |
