Looking great! I am on the fence between a MM long wheelbase body or a Berrien Genesis long wheelbase body. I am in CA and shipping a body from PA across the country can't be cheap. I love the metal flake gel coat option on the Genesis but it runs $3200 plus shipping. _________________ 1957 VW Oval Resto Mod |

So, your on the fence..lots to consider.. If asked if I'd buy another Manxter, I don't know what the answer would be. It is a kit, so it comes with a lot, but still a lot of custom work to do. Manxter #127 is coming up on 4 years in Oct and I be just about done. I don't like the rear seat set up. You can get any color, plain or metal flake you want. I would have Dave Barrett make a chassis for it.
There are a few more places to buy the shells in So Cal so you wouldn't have to pay shipping costs.
If your on a budget, well I threw mine out long ago.
Good luck with your quest.

If you are a big person this place make wider bodies then a Meyers Manx product. http://www.fiberreinforcedproducts.com/buggy.html
The seating area in a Manx is approx. 46-48in wide. I have a Manxter Dual Sport and it can get to be a tight fit with two large people in it. _________________ Joseph

For those potential Berrien Genesis 4-seat buyers in CA, I just received a $600 crating and $773 shipping quote from them. We spoke on the phone and they are looking into getting dealers in northern and southern CA, but no paperwork has been signed yet. I will have to pass and look for another option, possibly a stalled project in my area to save on costs. _________________ 1957 VW Oval Resto Mod |

These guys are in San Diego, and offer fabricated roll cages as well.

Not as slick as a Manxter in my opinion, but I gave them a serious look before I found a constructed Manxter for less than the cost of it's parts. I've seen quite a few of these MGMs listed for sale as completed buggies all around SoCal, and there may be some good deals out there. I would not pay $1373 to ship a Berrian when you can buy one of these for $1850 outright. |

VWNUT1
If your still interested in the Manxter, check out some of the builds. Here is mine #127. It is a whole lot more work than I ever imagined. But I am enjoying it, I am ready for it to be done. A buggy builder I know said the Manxter takes him 200 hours to put together and that's from an experienced shop. If your going after the full size buggy, you could always get the pan and running gear done while you decide.
PS
You did do a great job on your '64
