I absolutly love that leading link front suspension, yea, springs would help.
So you just weld the differentual solid and hook up a chain from the backwards spinning axle shaft to the back wheel? Are you going to spin the engine backwards, doing something funky with the oil pump, or are you going to change directions between the transmission and the back wheel? Your clutch arm must be huge. |

Hi [email protected]
it will be a leafer front suspension but not finished yet and itīs correct, i going to weld the spiders gears fron the differential and use a chain to the rear wheel, as well i will change the position of the diferential to make spin in reverse the final gear to the wheel, maybe i use a hydraulic clutch, but not sure yet. |

That's what VW did on split window bus transaxles. The axle reduction gearboxes reversed the direction of the rear wheels so they all had their differential ring gears flipped to the opposite side from the sedan.
I looks like the rear stub axle is mounted backwards? Why didn't you mount it normally and attach the rear sprocket where the CV joint mounts?
Did you use one of these rear bearing housings?

laloalien, I really like it! I have a few old Indians, your leaf spring front end will look great. It looks like you might have enough room for some skirted fenders.
It reminds me of this V-8 Indian.

It weighed 965 pounds but only had 60 hp.
Dave Edwards and John Bivens have restored it and I'm sure its closer to 100hp now.

Please tell me you're going to run a stock hubcap?
Also, get the poor kid a seat! _________________ "The new Volkswagen 1303. We've made so many improvements, they're beginning to show." |

For a minute there I saw twin drive chains in your future.
This will be a great looking bike hope to see it at the shows one day. _________________ some days I get up and just sit and think. Some days I just sit.

Oh yeah!! of course i will use the stock hubcap
I'm trying to put all the useful parts of the donor car
The rear wheel I'm doing a single side that is easier to replace or repair
I still have not decided if it will be a bagger bike or not |

Very cool build, definitely following this. I have a thought for your cooling issue. The Porsche guys use a fan/ gen that mounts reverse to the bug. I have seen a used kit on here in the parts section. The shroud is made of fibreglass & it should be easy to adjust around the down tube. You could also do like the BMW crowd & not worry about shrouding. Keep us posted. _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |
