Hi,
Can someone please tell me what the difference is in these 2 coils?
One is an A4, the other A5.
Thanks

The size. The larger one is earlier model. The skinny one came out early '70s IIRC. _________________ Jack Staggs

Both should be rather early before Bosch did switch to 10-digit numbers (when was that late 50's or early 60's?).
TK6A5 was used on the Carrera engine (and probably other "hot" cars as well)
TK6A4 was an aftermarket coil with the same technical spec as the TKA3 that was used on the Porsche 356 pushrod engines. The difference of the TKA3 and the TKA4 is the colour. The TKA4 later bacame the famous Bosch blue (0 221 101 003) _________________ __________________________________________ |

ZS/OK6/2 This one I've not seen before. It's smaller in size (both diameter and height) than regular 003 blue coils. The bottom sticker is also "unusual". Does anyone have any info about it.

NOS TK6A4 Bosch blue coil dated 12H (december 1952). This has to be the first year of them? Earlier would have been TK6/4 blue star coils? Although they are aftermarket my 1958 Bosch spare parts book list them as replacement for Porsche. This is usual when looking in old Bosch documents even if a part is listed as replacement spare part it doesn't make it the part originaly used in that car.
