I am new to the samba forums and thought I would share my current daily driver. I recently traded my 60' european bug for the ghia and am very happy with the trade.
Here are some pics.
60 euro that i traded.
The day I got my ghia.
The project begins.
6" narrowed beam.
Reindexing rear spring plates.
1" trany raise. (did not have to modify car to fit)
With help of my family and friend it only took us a week to build the ghia. I am happy with the way it has turned out so far, still have a lot of work ahead of me though. |

Cool, I like it... Would have been hard to give up the beetle, but you got a nice car outta the deal.
Did the 1 inch trans raise necessitate the engine lid stand off?
Kinda wouldn't mind raising mine, but I don't want to stand the deck lid off. |

No it didn't, the tans raise worked perfect. The reason that i put stand offs on it was i put a 1915cc in it and it didn't seem to be getting enough air and was overheating. |

Those 59s are beautiful. I like how your looks even unfinished.
I would love to get one but we are going for a 69 years for the updated equipment. |

My front tires don't rub the outside fender at all, but if i turn really sharp the tires will rub a little bit on the inside. |
