He walked to the closest AutoZone and bought the biggest tool kit they have, by the time he got back they were closed once he found out he needed the wrench and the kit doesnt have the 7/16 in it either. _________________ Ethan Dunlap

Nice! So he will either pass through Idaho on the I90 near me or the Southern route through Boise. If he has any parts needs to get home post them up as either route there are resources. What stopped him besides the entirely unnatural lump of Japanese steel? he needs to verify that it has the coolant bypass added for the thermostat.
because w/o a coolant bypass added into the conversion it'll overheat when the heater core(s) are shut off... maybe this is what happened.
the guys at Northwesty should be able to offer valuable assistance. _________________

I let him know. You would hope that it has already been done the conversion was done years ago. _________________ Ethan Dunlap

update he has managed to get the thermostat housing off. He cant move the plunger at all but he can move it on the new one so he may be lucky if there is no head gasket damage. _________________ Ethan Dunlap

2.2 or the 2.5? My 2.2 had the thermostat on the bottom front of block. Yeah I could see mustache bar issues. No need to answer, just yakkin while reading a book and crossing fingers.. _________________ 1987 2WD Wolfsburg Vanagon Weekender "Mango", two fully locked 80 Series LandCruisers. 2017 Subaru Outback boxer. 1990 Audi 90 Quattro 20V with rear locking differential, 1990 burgundy parts Vanagon. 1984 Porsche 944, 1988 Toyota Supra 5 speed targa, 2002 BMW 325iX, 1982 Toyota Sunrader |
