| What parts fit from 25HP to a 36HP? I have a 25 with a corroded crankcase. Was the 383 distributor fitted to a 36? Is the mechanical advance enough for a 36? Is the oil cooler the same? |

Iīm not an engine specialist but I would say:
The Cylinders donīt fit.
That causes the pistons, heads and the intake manifold will not fit as well.
Anything else could be used in/on both cases.

The 383 has a totally different curve than the VJ4BR8 and VJU4BR8 fitted to the 36hp engine.

Of course an engine in its original combination will run best.
But you could change them and it still runs.

So how is the advance curve in 25HP dissy different? Does it advance quicker and would be detrimental to a 36 HP? |

I used a 383 in an oval for years.
It ran and there was not a big difference noticed by me.
So that would be your smallest problem.
