I was hoping someone was going to suggest a local brewery establishment. My next stop after the meet-up was Mac & Jack's Brewery....but alas, it is strictly a brewery sending out their kegs to be drunk somewhere else. Though they did have a tour of the facility and tastings.
So instead....we traveled on down to another planned stop, the Mule Expedition Outfitters on Gilman Blvd, then we hit the Issaquah Brewery.
I would have stayed longer at the meet-up but wasn't aware that there was a $1 parking fee and since I don't carry cash....not even a few dollars...I was a bit paranoid of the parking police.
And a shout out to the coffee and doughnuts! They were appreciated.
But please...another meet-up!! _________________ 1987 Vanagon Westfalia (manual) - "Van Hildegaard"

Seriously?
If you had lived in NJ /NYC during Hurricane Sandy you would have so been up the proverbial Creek without a paddle!
In my area you couldn't purchase anything without cash! Food stores were open with minimal light provided by generators, frozen and refrigerated foods were gone, gas was pumped via a generator (if they even had gas! There was a major knot in the distribution pipeline!) but no where was a credit/debit card accepted..... The infrastructure was simply down for days and in places, weeks.
Plastic, or virtual plastic now, is a great convenience but when dire times come, nothing talks like cash!
There are stores and food outlets that still take only cash.
Going anywhere without at least some cash stashed away in an Ashtray or under the carpet somewhere is a very foolish way to go.
I'm the opposite...... Cash for almost everything that I can without it being a major inconvenience, sometimes electronic plastic is way faster and better! .......EZPass for tolls comes to mind.

Odin Brewing in South Park or Schooner Exact on 1st near the West Seattle Bridge get my vote. Odin has immense parking space as it is essentially in a small manufacturing complex. Schooner Exact has good enough parking and a nice tasting room that looks out on the parking lot. Dull view normally but when looking at a bunch of vans.... _________________ She's built like a steakhouse, but she handles like a bistro! |

We drove the bus into Marymoor to use the Dog Park on Saturday. Low and behold several Vanagons, and a Bay Window are pulling out. We all exchanged acknowledgment signs in passing, and I figured it was some type of caravan, totally missed the parking area, instead turning into the first off leash area. Darn.. _________________ > 78Grµn Westfalia `Donkey`

Odd request,
A the meet I very briefly met a gentlemen by the name of Jeff. A few people were oogling my SVX engine and peppering me with questions when he swooped through and mentioned his SVX projects and something about a G50 transmission. I wanted to chat further but never got the chance. Does anyone know who this is? Please PM me rather than replying to the topic.
Thanks! _________________ She's built like a steakhouse, but she handles like a bistro! |

What great event, I was the last van to leave. My math had us over 60 vans maybe 70 (20 vans on each side of the center lane plus 10+ on the 2 outter rows)
First the "Line-Up"
Next my favorite vanagon details Exterior
Lights Lights and more Lights
And a little of the inside sorry no curtains but I liked the solar set up on this van
If there is some one or some van that I photoed and would like remove PM me and I will delete it _________________ Curent ride: 87 2WD Westy, 2012 Jetta Sportwagon 2.5S

Looks like my German import Syncro fire truck might be a no-show this year. They're yanking out the transmission for a rebuild next week. Bummer.... |

If Marymoor Park is unavailable, might you consider a location on the Seattle side of the lake? Either the south parking lot at Discovery Park or the parking lot by Daybreak Star in the park should be large enough to accommodate all I think. I would be happy to talk to Seattle Parks about it if you like. And as a relatively "newbie" to the vanagon world, I really look forward to attending! Thank you. |

Thanks for the offer, I think there will be no problem in meeting at Marymoor (just need confirmation on which parking lot to use). Welcome to the Vanagon world! _________________ 87 Syncro Westy EJ25 ("Tardis")

Seattle Meetup - Nov 15, 2015 (Marymoor Park) Show and Tell by "Varotto Hugo" hvarotto
Seattle Meetup - Nov 15, 2015 (Marymoor Park) Show and Tell Wed Oct 7, 2015 11:22 pm (PDT) . Posted by: "Varotto Hugo" hvarotto I’m glad to announce our next Seattle Meetup at Marymoor.
Why/What ?
Brave the elements and come out to Marymoor Park for a Westy Show and Tell Meetup. The idea for this one is to tell the group a little about your van and perhaps some of the best mods or projects that you have made. Consider bringing some comfort food (chiili, soup, etc) to help you stay warm while we meet. The meeting is now in November, not December, so everybody should have a chance to talk about Westy projects and adventures without getting frozen.

Sunday Nov 15 2015

Location
Marymoor Park
6046 W. Lake Sammamish Pkwy. N.E.
