I like that mirror. It looks like a stud on the end, does that mount into the stock threaded hole in the door. If it does I would like to know where to get one.

If you have good working stock mirrors I would keep them. Most "stock replacement" mirrors are trash.

I've had good luck with these. They stick up some so they are actually useful. They hold adjustment quite well on my convertible.

True! I have tried several types from different vendors. They all look resonably OK, but when you start driving and reach 50 mph they start to vibrate due to the wind pressure. Frustrating, as they are not cheap any of them. Only original ones are OK. Rust is another issue.

I would check for "stiffness" before I spend any money on repro ones.

Ugh, no! A PO put baby turbos on mine and I hate them! I hate the look, and they suck when you need to use them because they are so small. And the vibrate like crazy when you drive.

The key thing here is an overall theme. You really should step back and look at the big picture. See if what you are doing helps or hurts the overall appearance of the car. old gh bug's [the white car] car looks good because he doesn't have any other chrome on the the car. Unfortunately you got a mishmash of stuff going on here. You have a later car with earlier fenders, no chrome on the windows except for the pop-outs, color-matched headlight rings but chromed door handles, and then there are those chrome running boards.

If feels like you are looking for a more modern look. You probably should have left the original front fenders on but you didn't so here's a few ideas to bring it all closer together. Color match the door handles, paint the pop-outs black, put on a new set of stock running boards without the chrome, and add the new mirrors your are considering. Then lower that baby a little. Even dropped spindles would help with the look a lot without altering the ride much. Lastly, to help make the older classic headlights a little more contemporary [and custom], add a set of early 911 Porsche lenses. They will bolt right in and make the look a bit more modern.

Here's an idea what an after may look like
