|

Bringing my Super back to life after being in storage for a bit. Rebuilding the carbs and etc. Bought a fuel pressure regulator to keep things in the desired range so I'm not chasing my tail with the carbs. Wondering where you guys mount these? After all the work I've been doing I don't feel like pulling the fan shroud, etc, if I don't have to. Will self tapping screws hold it, and if so where on the shroud should I put it? Or if not I'm open to other mounting locations, just so long as they don't require me to disassemble half the engine.

I don't fancy the idea of self tapping screws, vibration and weight could be an issue, when you consider controller is on the end if a sheet bracket.
I'd recommend RivNuts. These are like pop rivets but allow proper bolts to be used, and can be unscrewed/screwed as many times as you like without loss of strength or security. It is NOT necessary to buy a special tool to fit them, suggest you scan YouTube where a DIY method is shown which is adequate for your purposes. Good luck |

Is there a particular place on the shroud that's good for attaching things (i.e., won't contact or otherwise mess with the fan)? |

Hi.,
You will find a good response listed today.
After your article, e.g. Higher up this list there is an article showing the fan housing cut open. This should help with your question as a picture is worth a shot thousand words. |
