Hi,
I have the opportunity of buying a supposed 25 hp engine. I have requested some pictures to the seller and this is what i have received. They are not very clear but It seems that the engine number was restamped. The engine was taken from a rusty bus that was destroyed afterwards. Even if the engine is not original the van was maybe from 1950 1951

Hard to tell the motor from those pics but that shroud is not from 50 or 51. that is a 36hp style shroud. so if it is a restamped case, ask for pics of the date stamp on the side of the gen. stand |

The width of the number stamping area is definitely 36hp era, not January 1951. _________________ Thanks,

I think the number is a re-stamp. Surface looks machined and the font does not look original. |

The seller has sent me new pics. I'm positive the engine is not an 25hp engine. Wrong distributor, wrong carburator and son on. The interesting aspect is that if it was removed from a van, the van should be very old, because in portugal, until some years ago, all cars should had the engine number checked by our MOT's. That's why my barndoor had a restamped engine too, but thanks for your help.
I'm sorry if I have made you loose your time.
