Hello I have 76 beetle standard, I have the tin elbow that clamp on the heater boxes but on the passenger side the elbow seems to be a little short? Is there supposed to be a 2 piece for that side? Also aftermarket muffler was put on by previous owner so the elbow will hit the muffler if not tilted to side a little. Problem is when I try to put the bolt in the threaded part of the tin elbow is short going on to heater box and if not bolted when I drive it vibrates and pops up and almost off. Maybe the wrong elbow all together? I was wondering can I just run the flex hose direct to heater box and clamp or will the muffler burn threw it? also was going to try and put the fresh air hose coupler on the box and clamp first then to elbow giving me a little more length hoping it would solve my problem. does any one have any ideas and pic to show how it is supposed to be routed?
