anyone out there with late model supers ever have to replace the rear bumper mounts? its all one piece from the rear body mounts to the very rear of the car. the one that holds the ugly shock absorbing bumper post. No one seems to sell these for late model supers. Im not sure if I could take a 71-73 replacement and use it. seems structurely that its to different to me. I don't care about losing the ugly bumper post to the earlier looking ones. Has anyone done this? also I cant find anyone the sells the panel that lies flat in the engine compartment and hold the engine seal. its shaped kinda like a slice of pie. one on each side. mine are shot and someone cut it all up to reach the front spark plugs. thanks

Pictures would help in the description, now I just want some pie😋
Are you looking to replace the shocks or for the part it mounts to. 74 is a weird mount, I know because I have one but I can't find any pie under mine. Not sure what you are looking for really though. Snap a photo if you can....

Edit......see it this helps

yours looks really solid.

I circled the panel in red. the green is where someone butchered it. I cant believe this isn't a more readily available panel.

I circled the holes in red. seems like there is a ton of rust between all the panels in the rear and it rusted completely through in a few spots. I feel like I need to separate them and treat the rust or it will just rust through again? im really hating that its a 74 super at this point

Now that you have the name and part number you can find it. I saw one on eBay and worst case you can order internationally.

Search a bit and I'll bet you will find what you need in the USA since that diagram has the right names to search for.

I replaced these panels on my 1303 last year. Fit is pretty poor, but I guess it depends how fussy you are.

I found that to maintain a good fit on the (original) engine side tray panels I had to split the pattern panels and reshape them quite substantially.

Autocraft engineering here in the UK make good quality replacement engine side tray panels if you need them.

For the 74 Super, no one makes replacement bumper shock mount repair panels for them that I found. Since I hated the bumper shocks anyway, I replaced all four corners on my 74 Super with 73 Super solid bumper mounts.

You also have to modify the openings on the fenders for the bumper brackets, and run 73 bumper brackets. Pics in my gallery of the various changes. Since I tore my car completly apart fixing other damage, it wasn't that big a deal to me to go the extra distance to convert it over. Might be for you though. If you want to stay original, best bet is to get the rear area, with the inside engine wings, off a donor car from the SouthWest.

Thanks beetlenut, you did exactly what I was wondering could be done. I'm not going for stock, in fact this works out better because I like the look of t bars. I can see in the pic you just boxed and welded in the end of the square channel that runs on the entire length. I'll probably end up doing the same thing. I'm surprised the lack of panels because I think it's the same panels from 74 to 79. I guess lack of demand.

As far as the engine compartment metal I may just have to order from an out of country dealer.. I'll post pics when I get it all stitched up.
