We've just joined the westy family, and we are very excited to be here.
We also have some newbie advice… don't go through a car wash.
It's especially painful when it is on the way home from buying a westy in great shape, and then doing this (see pics in the gallery… they are uploading) to the pop top.
One VW shop was pretty gloom and doom about the seal and ability to fix it. My next step is a boat shop, but if anyone has advice about this I am all ears.
If anyone has other advice for a new Westy owner like "don't go through a car wash." I am also all ears.
The upside, everything else about it is great!
Thanks,
Adam |

You can fix it yourself with a fiberglass resin & mat repair kit. Get a box of disposable gloves before you open up the resin! You can paint it yourself after you get it repaired. Post more pics of your progress.
