Could anyone help me to identify the correct shifter for my jan 52 bug?
I've seen a few for sale and they seem to be different lengths,
Does anyone know the correct one for mine?

that's what you need, a Split shifter....

main differences to later 53-55 is the split shifterball, fitting into the shifter rod in the tunnel, it's smaller, Zwitter and early oval ball mount is much bigger.
then the split shifter housing is bit taller...compare pics and you will see it...
and the length is different too, splits are a bit longer
But both have a 10mm knob...
A good advice is always to buy a complete set...shifter, mounting plate, spring and shifter housing. Knobs are easy to get. |
