Here is the new front clip undergoing repairs. It had some dodgy panel replacement on the chin area with the cross, cut out and replacements on order.
Minor repair to fresh air box
Another small repair to side wall, rust hole.
The new clip was a bit wavy here, the one area where my original one was better, so the two have been joined.
The bumper mounts weren't all busted up like my old one, but the captive nuts were gone. PO of the donor car drilled right through to mount the bumpers, so some repairs here as well.
This is all being done before the clip goes on the car as it is easily accessible as it is. It might seem a bit of work for a replacement clip, but my old one needed all this and more, plus a load of straightening which would never have ended up as good as this one.
Edging closer, inch by inch! |

Waiting for the last few panels to arrive for the front clip. So some final bodywork to take out the lumps and bumps before painting.

I bet I didn't cost $17 in Australia - we pay multiples of what you guys in the US pay for everything _________________ 1962 Karmann Ghia

Perhaps you should consider naming your car Michael Jackson (or should that be Michayla Jackson?)

After all the issues with the stainless steel bumpers, we thought it best to trial fit them before paint.
Here's the assembled bumper
Some of the holes had to be enlarged slightly on the over-riders, but otherwise OK.
Here is the rear bumper on car.
Haven't done front, car still hasn't got its nose attached yet! |

Kevin Ferguson at Trimtec in WA sent some photos through of some of the interior. Sea blue car with contrast blue-white roof. Looks nice!

Look at the angle of the overrider. It looks like sh.t.
If you are lucky you will get a set thats ok. But when the overriders are that crooked mount them like blades. Or go original, JP-dansk repro. |

Don't hold back, tell me what you really think!😀
I know what you mean, but it looks ok in the other photos. I haven't actually seen them on the car myself. It may be just the angle/reflections of that photo or as Darrel says they may need to be swapped. The intention of this fit up was simply to check they fitted.
The repair panels for the front clip have shown up in Australia via Jerry Heldt, hopefully see them early next week. This is the headlight surrounds, and the central lower and rear panels of the front wheel well. |

The final panels have showed up, plus a few knobs Jerry had.
Edging closer to paint! |

Thanks Nicholas
Didn't know about that. Assuming it is standard, I wonder why it isn't stamped when the panel is made.
Certainly makes sense to have one there. Both my clips had damage or rust there, so no good as a reference.
