I've got a late 90's pre-runner with a 1835, dual 44IDF's. I'm in the process of pulling the engine and I notice the letters R.K.E. stamped on the right half.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

The letter font are different than anything VW used. Anyone have any idea what they stand for? Thanks.[/img]

Initials of the builder or shop that last rebuilt it.

Actually, Ronnie taught Kenny everything he knew and when Kenny left he still didn't know anything.

Years ago I bought an engine and a couple of trannys out of a local salvage yard. On the engine, after cleaning, was LW stamped under the distribuator. I found out later the engine case was machined by a local shop, Luke Wagner.
