Hi

The engine in my single cab appears to be a factory exchange unit (marked with the logo and arrows), but has no serial number other than the prefix 'B'...

Is there a way to tell what type of engine it is? I believe it's a 1600 dual port, but want to double check before checking the valve settings etc.

The engine reference page on here says later Type 2s had B0 and B5 engines and a B6 engine was fitted to Type 1s, but I don't have the digit, just the letter.

It's also marked WF under the distributor...

And FOX below and behind the distributor...

Thanks

if it has a one-piece manifold for the carb, then it is a single port motor
if it has a 3-piece manifold, then in it is a dual port motor.

the 1600 cc single ports used to be B motors
