Hoping to compile some contacts so we can easily acquire goods from across the pond.

I'm currently trying to get one of the new guage pods from brickwerks with no luck.

I know their policy, and reason for not selling. Hopefully we can create a network of folks to help one another attain parts from other countries. Germany, UK, Spain, South Africa, and any other places I'm forgetting. If you have the ability to help please speak up.

This obviously goes both ways, helping other enthusiasts attain goods from the U.S.

I am really surprised one of the vendors hasn't stepped up to carry these products yet. I would buy the fog light brackets and the new gauge pod today if they were available.

Tax headache.

I got Brickwerks to ship to me once, via another guy, but that was a one time thing.

My brother lives in France, but shipping there is already expensive from UK…

People, go visiting Europe, it's good for the economy, and you bring back goodies on the plane.

That's how I got a lot of my Syncro diesel goodies, under carrriage included Cool

Postage fees can be a headache inside the EU too. Price for a package under 5kg from Germany to Hungary varies from 15EUR to 30EUR.

My favorite shop now is https://www.tk-carparts.de/ and they post to the
States Wink

This was the response I got when I inquired with them:
Quote:
Hi,

I'm afraid not.
We have to pay for Liability insurance, already quite expensive… if we make one sale to North America or Canada it increases massively.

If you know someone in the UK we can ship to them and they could forward it to you. That’s the only way at the moment I'm afraid.

Regards
Michael

Really sorry if your message slipped through the net Birdcage. We get lots of emails and messages every day and we really do try and reply to every single one, I hope you don't think we were being rude. At CampervanCulture.com we are no strangers to import and expiating of goods, we are the UK and EU distributor for The Skylight Guy, Trasharoo, GoWesty, BombayJack, Terrawagen etc as well as sending a load of other wholesale stuff your way that your suppliers sell. Shipping overseas can be very time consuming if you do not know the exact process to ship. Everything you sent has a unique commodity code that you need to know and every part of the process has to be absolutely spot on other wise the customs just send it back. This can be costly on a pallet containing $5000+ of stock.

At the moment we are exchanging two or three pallets per month now we know what we are doing but we can totally understand why Brick-werks is refusing to post over seas due to the work involved in exporting. Brick-werks is a respectable business in the UK and are an all round nice bunch of fellas. Our public liability insurance quotes were fine for all over the world but the moment you mention the USA it has quadrupled. If you import anything from the far east to the UK and out again to the USA you really get your pants pulled down.

I hope this post helps,

Jed

Funny, I've purchased a few things off uk ebay for my Defender, no problem. I also have an address in Germany,at a forwarding service, and frequently purchase items on German ebay and the equivalent of CL over there. Where there is a will there is a way.

Did i do it for you chap? Propshaft/exhaust system etc to Honalulu start of the year?

Anyways, if anyone wants anything shipping from Brickwerks/Campervanculture etc, drop me a PM.
Have done it before to the US a few times, happy to do it at nil cost/profit (I just give people the log in for my account and they pay direct so i dont have to touch any money and you have insurance cover on your credit card). you book/pay for shipping to mine, i repack it into smaller box and help you sort out shipping to US.(and also complete customs/'value' invoice Wink

I dont touch your money, you get the parts you need, job jobbed as we say.

Send me a sticker or two to readdress the Karma if you want.

Brickwerks/Campervanculture will vouch for me (and can forward you my credentials so you can check me out)

As Bruddah Jed has said (and on Brickwerks homepage somewhere, its to do with Insurance etc Crying or Very sad )

PM me if i can help anyone out.

I'm trying to work with a UK individual to supply some Brickwerkes products. I'm going to pay him 20% fees for his troubles. If anyone wants to order some parts let me know...the order will be placed by mid November.

I know there's a guy around, building up a $yncro buying all kinds of goodie$ from all over, before even having it properly running Laughing

Something to think about in your Euro orders to the USA.

I just ordered some items from Gunzl in Germany. They charge 4% for PayPal. I went to my bank to do a wire transfer. (Gunzl gives you all the codes & numbers for their bank that you need to do this). My bank charged me $45 for the wire and somewhere along the line some bank or agency grabbed another 15 Euro so that the check I sent to Gunzl was 15 Euro short!

They sent me an email wondering what was going on, I don't blame them. I checked my receipt & wrote back that my bank transfer was for the correct amount. They said fine & are shipping the items anyway.

Take away, try PayPal next time. And hats off to Gunzl!
