I have a good 40hp 1200 engine which I plan to rebuild. I also have a set of 83mm cylinders and pistons. Aside from whether or not it's a good or bad idea, can the case be successfully opened up to receive the 83mm cylinders?

Thanks!

Smile I have not done a 40HP/1200 83 BB in over 40 yrs.

For the life of me cannot recall if the case was opened up but am sure the heads were....added a c35 cam.

Added the Holly #300 on there and it was a power house for it's year.

If I had those makings today for a low price I'd hop on it.
