I'm trying to buy some cheep tires to get my Thing on the road. Is 185-60-R14
A good choice?
Please no complicated answers. I tried to read some existing threads and they seem to turn into a pissing match of technical crap. I just want some tire that'll go round and round Smile

An 185-60-R14 is going to cost you close to an inch and a half of road clearance over the original 185(80)R14 and around 10% loss of speed in any gear.

A 195/75R14 is about a close as you can get size wise to the original. 195/75R14's can be had with heavier off road threads if that is what you desire.

Simple question, simple answer: yes that tire will go "round and round". Laughing

I just bought some BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A 195 75R14 tires and I like them so far... They are light truck tires so they are a little beefier and I think they feel close to the older light truck tires I ran for 10 years.
