I'm having trouble finding info for change over styles of 25hp tin. I have a 52 and there seems to be many opinions on seamed fan shrouds and oil filler styles. Anyone have change dates handy? Searches have not given me a definitive answer...

Thanks!!!!

the non seamed shroud and star coil went away during the '52 split dash model year. I don't know the exact date though.

this picture was published in the 9/52 Road and Track so the car was probably at least a few months old at the time.

Wasn't sure about the star either...

I just picked up a fairly unmolested 9/52 motor and noticed it had the smooth fan and larger oil breather. It's going into my 5/52 beetle. Some peeps I know are saying the motor should have other details, but I question why things would've been changed.

Thanks for posting the pic!

Smoth fan house, onepiece cylindertin, small breater, and I would say no starcoil (but no real evidence of the coil exept the photo here...)

Any ideas about the "F" and what looks like a wire loom bracket to the right of the generator?
