The Oil pickup Bolt is 77 millimeters in length and this includes the bolt
head.

It is a special bolt since the unthreaded portion is thicker in order to fit the eye of the pickup..up

Be sure to start this bolt BEFORE installing the strainer and plate so you can
wiggle the pickup as you thread the bolt that way the threads in the case will not be screwed.

This is the 1st bolt to Install when assembling these type-4 engines.
Torque to 14 ft. lbs. with sealer on the Copper washer.

If you have no other choice in finding the correct bolt make sure the one you
buy is of good quality and is only threaded approx.:24 mm up the shank.

Thank you sir!....I was having a hard time getting to mine to measure....snow tire day.

As for the unthreaded shank portion, a normal 8mm bolt with unthreaded shank in the right place will fit fine.
I had to replace one a while back Just be sure to use some sealant under the head. Indian head works great for this.

I also use Schnoor type ribbed bellville lock washers religiously on case bolts....especially this one. Ray
