So according to the noise, is it not from a rod? Is it safe to drive with it?

Maybe your valve adjusting screw is bad, and the measurement for valve clearance isn't accurate. I had a couple of adjustment screws that went bad because my valve guides were worn. (See pic) When I would measure the clearance, the measurement was off because I was measuring from the high spot on the screw, although the valve stem was actually riding on the low spot. Take out the adjustment screws on that bank and look at them.

This wear may be because of soft adjusters : about a year ago a batch of soft adjusters appeared in the UK . I had some in my bus engine in fairly new cylinder heads where the rockers just did not line up with the valve stems. The burring I saw ended up with flakes coming off in the engine , if you actually tried to set the gap off the end of the burr, it would flatten and vanish.

I was thinking about a reason for the clicking sound...

Recently ( 2 months ago ) the cylinder heads were machined in order to get the same CR in all the cylinders and to increase the CR to 7.9:1.

From what i remember before that there was no clicking noise.

The clicking noise comes from the 3/4 cylinders side, so two days ago i checked the push rods of that side and realized that the admission valve 3# push rod was bent.

So my theory is that because of the heads machining maybe the admission valve of the 3# cylinder is hitting against the 3# piston producing the noise, that would also explain the bent push rod.

What do you think?

Sounds reasonable... do you have access to a bore scope to look down the plug hole and look for evidence of valve to piston contact?

Im planning to drop the engine and check inside to see if the clearances are ok.

What tool do i need in order to measure all the clearances of the push rod metals, and how do i measure them?

A bore scope could save you the trouble and they're not super expensive:

If any valve has been hitting a piston, then there will be marks on the piston/s.

Bingo, are you running solid shafts, if not it's good added insurance especially with any kind of performance cam.

Well it doesn't seem to be something that can be fixed from the outside, I couldn't open the motor yet but I will some day

fix it or else.....the trans can also make noises like this. but pulling a valve cover is easy and lots can be seen from there. also compression check and valve spring check.Ive seen guys revtune motors trying to get the click to go away...the click was the piston rings in the combustion chamber....not on the piston.verry leen condition&overheated badly.

I had a clicking noise that I thought was a rod knock.
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Ended up being a washer in one cylinder and the washer in the bolt never made it pass the valve. The clicking was when the washer got stuck in the head, and the piston was hitting the washer.

Hopefully those did not muck up the heads and piston tops too much.

It did a little. I drove around without knowing for a month till i heard the noise. I drove it home, about 2 miles, then pulled apart. Put it all back together now runs better than before.

Any sharp edges in the heads will cause hot spots and possibly detonation. Good to hear it is working better!
