Anything can be done with enough cutting and welding, but far easier to just get 1966 or 67 doors. Someone will trade you. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

There was a recent post here about an early '64 with late '64 1/2- door latches. They worked fine to latch the door, but he couldn't lock or unlock from the inside with the remote controls. Something about the remotes didn't have enough throw, or the operating arms being too long or short.
I'd say if you swap in all the parts from your '66 doors, it should work same as a late '64. _________________ -Bruce

Using the all the door lock and handle parts from the 66 doors.. placed in the 63 doors...
Should work... with little effort.

67 doors take an entirely different latch mechanism.. not interchangeable to pre 67 bodies.
Plus.... GP's project.. needs the smaller windows...

look on side of door handle for key code. it may be SG or other. code will be stamped on both 63 (example) and 66 (example) door handles. code will be SC### or SG### for example. it will be stamped on side of removable piece and may be lucky to find both same code. if early 66 the buttons with lock cylinder will fit in 63 button. _________________ Admin note: Bill Passed away - July, 2017
