My Notch has those same type license plate holders. The holes don't match up with US plates. Were those used on all early Type 3's? It is a different set-up from the rear plate holder which is a single horizontal thingy.
Are those hubcaps that could have been gotten from a VW dealer? |

I recycle old cars and parts, other than when I rot, that's as Green as I am going to get.
Thanks to my Tesla driving neighbors, I feel more relaxed driving my SUBURBAN and old VW's.

I think they were a dealer thing as my old '63 had them too and they are shown in the Type 3 parts book.

That's Ivan in his notch way back in 1976. He still has it. He put the chrome Porsche wheels and hubcaps on it. |
Ah, back when our cars were pure and so were we! Looks like a '62 that maybe had body work on the driver's side as the shine is different from the hood and right fender and the antenna mount is off.
I spy a Mercedes 300SEL way in the background. Wonder if it was a 6.3? _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

Used car lot on Sunset strip in the early 70's. Got that photo from one of the original members of the Alice Cooper band FB page. |

Ahhh...the 'pre-seat belt' days when we were free to move about the cabin as kids. |

I miss those days. I grew up Mom & Dad would pile us 5 kids in & 2 Dachshunds in a 70 semi auto bug. Used to fight over who got the space behind the seat. _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

Not as cool as the others posted but I stumbled across this in a 1967 Denmark encyclopedia type book my grandparents had.

Here's some more for your "facebook friend".
Sorry if some of these are kind of small. But I'm at the mercy of the original poster.

I love looking through these vintage photos. Here is one from 1971 when dad brought it home from the dealership...
