My daughter in our longtime daily driver '67, circa '89 or '90
Purchased at the Caddyshack from the singer in the punk band Noxious Fumes. It was an amazing car that never once let us down. Wish I still had it _________________ Casey--

Me & my squareback pickup just after The Who concert in 89. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Late 1980's:
In the town of Orangeburg NY which is in Rockland County where I lived, an auto body shop on the corner of Rt 303 and East Erie St. had this Notch parked alongside for a few years. I already had my '64 Ghia cabrio and was not really interested in the Notch, but knew they were rare so I stopped and photo'd it. I called the shop that week when they were open, and I remember that the owner told me it was for sale, no engine, for $600.

I recently posted some Ghia and Type 2 photos of this 1962 VW factory calendar in those respective forums, so I thought the Type 3 world might like to see this.
VW's calendar for 1962 had current models positioned "in front of" scenic paintings from different parts of the world. For December, the scene is from the Benelux countries (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg). This is the only Type 3 in the calendar.
The caption reads: "Winter- an idyllic snowscape, captures the gay and peaceful atmosphere of Brabant. Pieter Brueghel the Elder (1529-1569) who took his name from his birthplace, the little village of Brueghel near Breda, painted it over 400 years ago. Life and its pleasures never failed to inspire him. Here he pictured the joys of skating and playing a kind of ice hockey, both popular sports in the Netherlands long before they were well known in the rest of Europe."

early autumn 1969:
My father worked for VW of America in Englewood Cliffs, NJ from '67 thru '79 and received new company cars at least once a year. In this '69 Squareback we visited a friend who was renovating a cottage in northwest CT. I saw the vine on the property, dad tugged on it to make sure it'd support "his" weight, then let me take a few swings on it.

Nice! Looks like an Automatic, too! But is there any chance that was the fall of '68, or did they not get new company cars for 1970? _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.
